At the MADC, our job is to inspire and conspire. To inspire great creative work, and bring people together to make more of it.

backstory

history

Established in 1956, as the Melbourne Advertising and Design Club, the MADC is Australia’s oldest creative association. But along the way, the word ‘club’ began to feel a little too exclusive. Especially when the MADC is now open to the ever-expanding disciplines that make up commercial creativity. So, it’s now Melbourne Advertising, Design and Creativity, but still, of course, the MADC.

We are a not-for-profit focussing on championing great creative work, educating the next generation, and finding ways to connect our community. Whether it’s through our MADC Presents series, the Art of Craft education platform, our partnership and prize program with London International Awards, or the annual MADC Showcase at the Forum Theatre, we look to serve creatives, award deserving creative, and have fun along the way.

Many of our events are in Melbourne, but we’d like to think they not just for Melbourne. We aim to always create content that can travel beyond our borders, as we believe great ideas should be shared widely.

We are forever thankful to our sponsors and industry partners for making all that we do possible. And as a volunteer run organisation, are forever grateful to all those who donate their time, tenacity and talent.

Long live the MADC.

MADC is made possible thanks to the continued support of

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways we work on here in Naarm (Melbourne). We honour their rich history, continuing culture, and deep connection to Country. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
