MADC PRESENTS: POD - Pioneers of Distinction

POD is a series spotlighting the pioneers shaping culture and creativity. Our launch event, From Idea to Earbuds, unpacks the art and business of podcasting - from developing an idea and pitching it, to production craft, audience building, and turning hit shows into standout media brands.

  • Rachael Brown - Creator of Trace, the landmark podcast that helped reopen a real murder case, and a three-time Walkley Award winner, now leading true crime storytelling at the ABC.

  • Ryan Shelton - Comedian, writer, and co-creator of the successful podcast The Imperfects, known for his work across TV, podcasting, and live performance.

  • Richard Baker - Award-winning investigative journalist and founder of Southern Ocean Media, with credits including Phoebe’s Fall, Wrong Skin, and The Last Voyage of the Pong Su.

Co-Hosts:

  • Jacinta Parsons – Broadcaster, writer, and PhD in radio. Co-host of ABC Melbourne’s The Friday Revue, bringing wit, warmth, and smart conversation.

  • Matt Lawson – MADC Co-President and Co-Founder of Time&Place.
